Very poor customer service

I ordered a white table and 2 chairs. After more than 4 weeks the wrong table was attempted to be delivered - it was a brown table. I asked for the floor sample be delivered. When it arrived a leg on the table was broken and I refused the delivery and requested a refund. After another 4 weeks check arrived with $100 deducted for delivery. I shouldn't have to pay for their mistakes. I will never shop at this store again and will tell others about their shoddy service.Ddo

I purchased a mattress last night around 7:00 p.m. just before closing time.

Around 11:00 p.m. I discovered a BED BUG crawling on the mattress! Upon further inspection I found another bed bug and many, many eggs attached to the mattress!

I am currently waiting on a return phone call, as they are not open for business yet today! Remember, this was just purchased last night!

We checked into the situations, and with bed bugs, it takes about seven weeks for a bed bug to form from an egg to an adult bed bug, being that the mattress you purchased, was not manufactured even a month ago, it would be impossible for a bed bug to be alive in it. If there was a bed bug present in you house, than, that bed bug, could have infested your new bed. I do recall, our owner, asking you to bring it back to the store, so we could inspect it, throw it away, and then we were filling to give you a new one, but you guys never came back.

I had been looking for a dry bar for my Rec Room, And ended up At Maak Furniture after about 7 other stores,, At Maak - I found a very good selection of exactly whatI was looking for (I had 6 bars to choose from) and the prices, were far more resonable than all of the other stores, My Sales person was a gentleman by the name of Moe (ask for him) He's thorough and knowledgeable and not at all pushy or abrasive, (very Professional, So to wind this up, I received great service and the perfect Dry bar for my room, I wish I would've visited Maak First!! Thanks again!!

This is a complaint website ; it is not for free advertising or apple polishing ( read : the title ; Pissed Consumer ) ... we are glad your son is successful at his job, but we don't want smiles and sunshine here - just tell us how they screwed you and it'll be fine.

I bought a reclining chair and was told it would be available on Friday. I had help ready to carry it. Nothing. I waited until the following Friday for a phone call that didn’t come. When I called Maak, the girl said “it was here last Friday but I wasn’t at work to call you.” Seriously, only one person can work a phone?! How about calling me the next day then you moron!

I had a great experience! I bought a very expensive mattress and it was delivered in a professional manner. Sales people were great. I issues about no refunds and other things were written in paperwork. People should read paperwork before you sign.

I purchased a power sectional ($2888) from maak furniture a few weeks ago and am very pleased!! I am happy with the quality of the merchandise too! (If this changes you'll hear back from me) Kris was my sales-man, veronica at the desk was very pleasant and professional. They were both very helpful! The delivery guys did a super job too! (thus far I have zero complaints) As I left the store they asked that if I was happy with my overall experience to share because people only get online when their ticked-off!! Which I see is true, so kudos maak!!!!! job well done with me!

Furniture and special ordering

Maak was wonderful to us. The most beautiful LR Suit French Prov. and ordered french or italian., bedroon. took about 6mo. or so to come in from co. It was worth the wait.Mcferran co. the most beautiful set I ever have seen 4 poster king. I feel like a queen. This store has the kind of furniture that you don't see anywhere else. Horrible customer service delivery was a mess too!!! Nicole told guys in warehouse I was cussing her out and I never even said dang?????? Bought bed on 0831**** and it was delivered on September 21st, .....warehouse guy says they are always late on deliveries and getting orders to customers. They lost all my future business. I wont deal with liars.

Also very fishy, is the fact that their reviews appear to be fake.

None of them comment on the horrible fact that if you need to cancel your order, they will charge you a 25% restocking fee. An...

Buyer beware.If you're looking for a nice place to buy furniture:I went to Maak Furniture with my kids a few days ago and purchased a [what looked like a nice couch] and now I sit here in my living room.. writing this... asking myself why I'm sitting on my old couch in my living room instead of my new couch.Poor delivery etiquette. They left all packaging on my front porch. Now there are two huge boxes on my front porch! It's hideous! Also, Veronica, at the store, said the delivery people usually don't help remove furniture, but that they're pretty good about doing it and they would help me out because she knew them and blah, blah.. blah.. guess what? :) if the policy is, "no old furniture will be removed by the delivery team, then please don't tell people otherwise! I should have trusted my gut feeling from the beginning and never have bought anything from them. Now my home looks like a furniture store with couches all over the place. As far as the store goes: Very lovely furniture. Prices are decent.

Buyer experience: The shopper isn't told the following prior to purchase: no refunds. No refunds. No cancelations. No nothing. Yes. I said no refunds twice. Pretty much, they have no real customer service. Make sure you measure your furniture, make sure you know for sure exactly what you want because once you buy it, this isn't Walmart or target or best buy. They will not give you a cash refund. The receipt states it.

It also states that they may make an exception and if they do, they will charge you a 25% restocking fee! 25% is a lot of money. I didn't think anything at the time, but instead of being told all of this prior or even right after the sale, the sales person hurried up and folded my receipt 2 times.

Double fold.

I'm thinking that was his nice way of avoiding having the customer read though the receipt, seeing the horrible business they do while the customer is still in the store. A proper sale would have ended with the sales person explaining the receipt and highlighting the important parts, ie: no refunds, no cancelations at the very least.
As far as actual buying experience, the store was very spacious, nice selection of furniture, music was at a nice low volume, and I wasn't helped by anyone for the first 15-20 minutes I was there. A very nice lady (veronica) did take her time to say hello and help me, so that was nice. If it wasn't for her, I would have just left without buying anything after looking around for a bit. Overall, I'd recommend going in and checking it out for yourself. It doesn't hurt to look, but keep in mind that they don't help you after they take your money.

Really poor management/sales/customer service on their part.

Delivery fee I paid was 49.99 I bought a couch/sectional for $699 "The ottoman was free as a bonus for paying in cash".
If they tell you that they'll help you with removing your old furniture, and you don't have extra space in your home to squeeze in the new furniture, next to your current furniture, run the other way. Just save yourself this nightmare. they will leave your gorgeous new furniture outside in a box and leave! Also, this company seems pretty questionable. 5 reviews were made on the same day and they all look like they were written by the same people. :(

I'm not happy and I will not be returning for any further business.

To add: There was no literature included during the decision making process. A nice card attached to the couch stating some information about the item would have been nice. Ie: Leather? Faux leather? Suede? Microfiber? Give me something. This furniture is flimsy and moves around a lot on hard wood floors. It's very light weight and easily moves about when my 6 year old bumps into it.

I regret buying it.

Lesson learned.

I truly hope this reaches someone. If I can help one person with this review, then I'm happy.

I purchased a sectional from maak furniture recently and was pleased by the sales-man and the entire process....

I have no complaints, but I do see that there are a few bad experiences with the store!

To each their own but I also noticed that the cheaper priced ($699) furniture is "cheap furniture" so if that is your complaint you have bigger issues!

This does look fishy every time a bad comment is made someone rushes in to say they had the opposite experience. Word to the wise this business seams to be OK but the comments seam to be posted by the business owner or one of his employees.

Most company's have bad marks you just pick the ones that have the least. On the other hand most companies don't have bad remarks immediately followed by a rebuttal that opposes or challenges what the customer stated.

I actually had a great experience at MAAK furniture, veronica helped me she was very accommodating to my budget and needs!!! I'm glad I stopped in on a whim leaving value city frustrated by there service policies!! I think they are a great addition to our local retailers!!

This is the same thing I experienced at the furniture store around the corner from value city in akron. I was pulling out my money to pay for the furniture, then I asked about the refund policy.

The owner said NO refunds, a restocking fee, and in house credit only. RED FLAG. Anyone has the right to change their mind about a purchase.

As long as it hasn't been delivered their shouldn't be a restocking fee. (Ahhhh) The nerve of some companies!

This place is a JOKE! I put a recliner in layaway and was told when i was coming to get it to call and make sure it was in stock! I called on Monday to let the know I would be in on Thursday to pick it up! I spoke to Katrina explained this all to her she said she would put my file on Veronica's to make sure my chair would be there i said to her if its not please call me and let me know i said if i do not hear from you then my chair will be there! Well got there Thursday around 3:30 and paid the remaining balance on my chair! Guess what no chair! 7 days before it would be in. Unacceptable!!!! So after them only offering free deliverly on the chair( dont need I have a jeep) I threw a fit! Went off on Kat! One of the warehouse men offered to go get my chair today and bring it to me! So 2 totally different guys show up today with my chair and its broken (Imagine that)! So im sitting here waiting for someone to get this trash out of my living room and bring me what i paid for! The only person in that is decent is JJ and I feel sorry for him because he is stuck in a store with a bunch people who are clueless!!!

I bought furniture from them about 2 months ago. customer service was okay, the one female at the desk, whom i cant recall her name, seemed pretty unprofessional and seemed to be having a bad day. delivery guys did come a little later than the eta i was provided with. Thankfully, I was off work that day, so it was no biggie. everything else went quite smoothly. recently, i called to use to warranty that came with it, due to "manufacturer defect", i guess. i spoke to another girl on the phone, katrina, and she was very helpful. she informed me that all the info i was given at the desk prior (from the unhapp7y representative) no longer worked there and went above the normal expectations to call me back 3 times that day to keep me up to date on how they were going to take care of my couch for me. first time ive had someone there that kept in contact with me about it so efficiently. personally, i would go back because they do have quite a vast variety and options. and prices are not too bad.
